In the last month or so Trench Crusade has caught my attention. Since Trench Crusade’s definition of Hell's minions seems to be pretty open-ended in terms of what constitutes a creature from Hell, I've decided to include some Heroclix Ragman and Man-Thing figures that I have repainted and rebased for Trench Crusade.
Midweek I returned to working on my Aliens’ terraforming space complex. A few weeks ago I did what I thought would be my only interior element of that collection… a Xenomorph hatchery. But the more I thought about that, the more I decided that I needed a more generic interior for the lab complex, so I decided that since I had enough Nano Space parts, I would build a smaller version (2 connected floor sections rather than the 3 that I used in the previous interior); that would give me more use options. Here is the unpainted interior I just completed. The figures are 32mm Colonial Marines provide for scale.
By the end of the week I painted the generic interior for the lab complex and turned my attention to an Atlantis the Lost Empire water tanker modification for my Trench Crusade collection. It required the removal of the water tank and its replacement with a flat bed and rails that would allow it to serve as a mobile artillery piece.

This past week I purchased a crucifix at Savers thrift store for $4. I’ll be using it with my Trench Crusade collection. The cross is wood, and the figure is resin. I removed the original wooden base and replaced it with a new base of Legos textured with putty. I made sandbags using Milliput and repainted the entire piece. The unpainted figure is 32mm and provided for scale.
I spent the rest of my workbench week painting Colony 87 figures from Crooked Dice.

I found this tower at Savers for $4. It’s by Dept 56. While I tend to stay away from terrain items made of ceramic material because it is difficult if not impossible to modify, this one really looked like it could be great as a terrain feature for Trench Crusade and only had a few areas with snow patches that needed covering. I covered the snow with Milliput textured by a toothbrush to give it a look of damage once painted. I added a cross (one was probably there on the original) and gave it a new paint job.
For several months I’ve been working on an Aliens-style terraforming space complex. Until now it has been completely focused on the exterior of the complex, but I have known all along that one layout had to be an interior, and this week I decided it was time to do that interior. The main figure (s) is the xenomorph queen and her egg pods by Horrorclix. There are also six Colonial Marine victims 3d printed by Modest Minis Studio. The floors and doors are Nano space parts. The walls are a combination of resin spaceship walls sections I’ve had around for years and Evergreen plastic. I got the cabinets at the swap meet and I have no idea who made them… got a bag full for a dollar or two.
My next items are a return to Star Wars with two versions of the Crooked Dice Colony 87 Hover Rickshaw. I can’t thank Crooked Dice enough for keeping Colony 87 alive… love the stuff. With the rickshaws done, I turned my attention to three more figures I will be using with Star Wars. I have no idea who made them. I got them several years ago from a seller on eBay. Please forgive the photo quality of these last two pictures… I like natural light and today that light is coming through a lot of dark clouds.
