This past week I had the urge to create a version (admittedly imperfect) of Cobb Vanth’s speeder. The one by Micro Galaxy is significantly too small to go side-by-side with the Mattel Mandalorian speeder I have so I modified a pod racer engine system and attached it to a Heroclix speeder-like rider platform, added another highly modified Heroclix figure as Cobb Vanth, and gave him a modified version of Heroclix’s Mr. Freeze’s backpack canisters. The whole thing probably cost me about $3.50, and imperfect though it is, it will do until a better option comes along.  Actually, at the swap meet today, I found a broken motorcycle for a dollar, and I think it will provide a much better rider’s platform, but that is work for the coming week.

I ended the week painting more 3d-printed Star Wars’ figures.

Please forgive the very late posting.  I can only claim a combination of lazy and busy.  What I did accomplish on the workbench this past week is I painted a huge shark head rising out of the water (Milliput).  I got the shark at the swap meet on a whim… no idea what I’ll do with it.

With that done I cut some more windows out of another Playmobil beach house.

I finished off the week returning to Star Wars.  I began with a Wizards of the Coast Aurra Sing and finished off with seven 3d-printed Corsairs.

Most of my workbench time this week has been spent painting Star Wars’ figures: decommissioned Stormtroopers, street people, Cobb Vanth, and an Inquistior (6th Brother).  This is the second set of these street people I’ve purchased so to give them a different look I switched heads on all of them.

I ended the week removing windows from a Playmobil beach house I found at Savers (a thrift store).  I love using these windows for interior layouts of large buildings such as churches, mansions, hotels, etc.

I was at a thrift store (Savers) on Tuesday and found the Lemax Dr. Jones Snake Oil wagon (made of resin). It was in perfect condition and $3.50. I added some additional stair steps (top addition is circled) using Evergreen plastic to make it more compatible with 28mm. I left most of the paint alone... just repainted the stairs, chimney, and windows to make it more compatible with my style. While the wheels are huge, I think that is just part of the fun.

Next I painted Aurra Sing from one of the blind-bag packs sold at Disneyland.  The figure is crude compared with the 3d-printed Star Wars figures I have been doing, but I really like the pose, so I thought it was worth the time.

I returned to 3d-printed Star Wars figures once Aurra Sing was done.  I’m a big fan of the SkullForge/3d Wargames Star Wars space horses.  I bought two of the horses with mounted figures and one horse being groomed.  I replaced one of the mounted figure’s heads and added goggles made from Plaststruct plastic rod (circled in blue).

I finished the week painting a female Imperial Security Officer, an assassin droid in trench coat, and a group of decommissioned Stormtroopers… really like those.
